The company was first launched as a small boutique in Chinatown under the name Old Shanghai, which had been kept family-operated for over 30 years. The two sisters, Renne and Tiffany, grew from toddlers allured by the silk texture to entrepreneurs who decided to make kimono design a career. They founded the current band and continued to “infuse a modern aesthetic, paired with timeless techniques, to craft beautiful, everyday kimonos” for the whole world.
